Securing planning approval for this apartment development on a restricted site within a conservation area certainly made for an interesting design process, which included a Design Commission presentation.
Design details
Sympathetically designed with a staggered elevational treatment and palette of traditional materials and roof pitches managed, the three storey blocks split into parts meant that the design did not overwhelm its surroundings, with key aspects of the castle view maintained. Collaborating with a planning consultant on this project was key.
